Warehouse CRM - Django React Inventory System

Description

Warehouse CRM is a multi-warehouse inventory management system built with Django REST Framework and React. Track stock across unlimited warehouses, record every receipt, shipment, transfer, and write-off, scan barcodes with any standard USB/Bluetooth scanner, and generate signed PDF documents — all with role-based access control.

Every stock change happens through a recorded movement, never by editing a quantity directly, so displayed stock levels can never drift from the actual movement history. This keeps the system audit-ready and reliable even with many warehouses operating at the same time.

The project ships with Docker Compose for one-command installation, a demo data seeder, and documentation covering both Docker and manual setup.

Features

  • Multi-warehouse inventory with independent stock levels and movement history per warehouse
  • Full audit trail — stock quantities only change through a recorded movement (Receipt / Shipment / Transfer / Write-off)
  • Barcode scanning via any standard USB/Bluetooth scanner (keyboard-emulation mode, no drivers required)
  • Auto-generated PDF documents for signatures: goods receipt notes, shipment notes, write-off acts
  • Role-based access: Admin / Manager / Storekeeper, with per-warehouse staff assignment
  • JWT authentication with automatic token refresh
  • Dashboard with stock movement charts and low-stock overview
  • Dockerized — one command runs the full stack (PostgreSQL, API, frontend)

Requirements

  • Docker and Docker Compose (recommended installation method)
  • — or, for manual setup — Python 3.12+, Node.js 18+, and PostgreSQL 15+
  • A modern web browser
  • A standard USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner (keyboard-emulation mode) — optional, only needed to use the barcode scanning feature

Instructions

  1. Extract the archive and copy .env.docker.example to .env.docker (and the frontend/backend .env.example files to .env for manual setup)
  2. Generate a new SECRET_KEY and database password — do not use the example values
  3. Run docker compose up --build -d
  4. Run migrations: docker compose exec backend python manage.py migrate
  5. (Optional) Load demo data: docker compose exec backend python manage.py seed_demo
  6. Open the frontend URL and log in — see the README for full details, including manual (non-Docker) setup and environment variable reference
