TeamClock - Employee Time Clock

Description

Most small teams don't need a full HR platform - they need to know who worked when. TeamClock does exactly that: a one-button clock in/clock out for every employee, with a live-updating elapsed timer while they're clocked in, and just enough admin tooling to be genuinely useful for payroll.

Two roles keep it simple. Employees see only their own clock and shift history; admins manage employee accounts and see everyone's hours, including a dashboard of who's clocked in right now and team hours today and over the last 7 days. For the inevitable forgotten clock-out, admins can correct a shift's time directly, and corrected rows show who made the edit and when, so the record stays honest.

Date-range reports break totals down per employee with a simple hours bar, exportable as CSV for payroll. Storage is a self-contained SQLite database - no MySQL server to install or configure, no connection details to manage. Upload the files and a short setup form creates everything, with no Composer, Node, or build step required.

Good fit for retail, hospitality, trades, or any small team currently tracking hours on paper or in a spreadsheet.

Requirements

PHP 8.1 or later with the `pdo_sqlite` extension.

Instructions

1. Upload the contents of `src/` to your web host, or run locally with `php -S localhost:8000 -t src`. 2. Make sure `src/data/` is writable by PHP so the SQLite database can be created. The bundled `.htaccess` blocks direct access to it; on Nginx, which ignores `.htaccess`, add an equivalent rule yourself. 3. Visit the site - with no database yet, you're taken to a one-time setup screen to set your team name and your own admin login. 4. Add employee accounts from the Employees page; each gets their own login and role (Employee or Admin), and can be deactivated without losing shift history. 5. Employees log in and use the single Clock in / Clock out button, seeing only their own recent shifts. 6. Admins see the same clock button, plus Employees (manage accounts), Reports (date-range totals with CSV export), and Settings. 7. To fix a forgotten clock-out, an admin opens the employee's timesheet and corrects the shift's times directly. 8. Set your team name under Settings.
