Supermarket POS - Inventory and Face Attendance

Run a whole supermarket from one screen. A complete, self-hosted point of sale, inventory and staff attendance system with full source code, built with Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript and PostgreSQL.

Try the live demo. Open the demo and pick a role (Admin, Manager or Cashier) to sign in with sample data. No account is needed, and you can switch role at any time from the header.

Good to know

• This is a self-hosted Node.js application. It needs a server or VPS that can run Node.js; it will not run on PHP-only shared hosting.
• Payroll is not included. The Payroll menu item is a placeholder for a future update.
• Changing the currency changes how prices are displayed. It does not convert prices already entered.

Requirements

• Node.js 22 or newer
• PostgreSQL 12 or newer
• A free Cloudinary account for image uploads
• A Gmail account with an App Password for sending emails
• A webcam on devices used for face check-in
• A server or VPS that can run Node.js (not PHP-only shared hosting)

Instructions

1. Unzip the download and run npm install in the source folder.
2. Create an empty PostgreSQL database.
3. Copy the example settings files and fill in your database, email and Cloudinary details.
4. Run npm run setup:production. It creates the tables and asks for your business details, currency, first branch and administrator account.
5. Build and start the app, then sign in at /admin/login.

Optional sample data (products, staff, sales and attendance) can be loaded with npm run seed:demo. Full step-by-step instructions are in the included HTML documentation and INSTALL.md.
