RetailPoint POS - Point of Sale & Billing Software for Small Retail Business

Affordable POS with inventory, barcode scanning, sales reports, and invoices. No monthly fees. Own your software forever.

The Problem Most Small Shops Face

You started your retail business to sell products, not to wrestle with expensive software. Cloud POS companies charge monthly fees forever. Cheap apps lack inventory tracking. Spreadsheets are a nightmare at checkout. You need a simple pos system that handles billing, inventory, and sales reports without draining your profits.

Built for Real Shop Owners

1.Fast Checkout at the Counter

Your cashier scans a barcode or searches by product name. The item appears instantly in the cart. Apply discounts, select payment method, and print the receipt. The whole sale takes seconds.

2. Never Lose Track of Inventory

Every sale automatically deducts stock. When inventory runs low, the dashboard shows a warning before you sell out. Import your entire product catalog via CSV in one click.

3. Know Your Numbers

View complete sales history filtered by date, cashier, or payment method. See daily summaries, shift reports, and tax breakdowns. Identify your best selling products.

4. Protect Your Profits

Configure discount limits so large markdowns require manager PIN approval. Every shift tracks opening cash, expected cash, and actual counted cash with instant variance reports.

5. Customer Credit Made Simple

Enable credit accounts for trusted regulars. Set a credit limit. At checkout, see used and available balance instantly. Track every credit payment per customer.

6. Professional Invoices

Every receipt includes your store details, receipt number, line items, taxes, discounts, and totals. Print or save PDFs for customer records and accounting.

Instructions

1. Upload Files to Your Server

A. Extract the zip file

Unzip the downloaded file on your computer. You will see folders like app, config, database, public, resources, routes, storage, and vendor.

B. Upload to your hosting

Upload all files to your web server using FTP, cPanel File Manager, or your hosting control panel. Make sure the files go into the folder you want to run the site from.

C. Point domain to the public folder

Set your domain or subdomain document root to the public/ folder inside the project. This is required for security and is standard for Laravel applications.

Tip: If you use cPanel, you can set the document root when creating a subdomain, or use a .htaccess rewrite if you cannot change the root.

2. Set Folder Permissions

A. Make these folders writable

The web server needs write access to storage/ and bootstrap/cache/. In cPanel you can set permissions to 755 or 775. If you have shell access, run the commands below.

chmod -R 755 storage chmod -R 755 bootstrap/cache Important: Do not set permissions to 777 on shared hosting. Use 755 or 775 depending on your host configuration.

3. Run the Web Installer

A. Open your site in a browser

Go to your domain. The installer will auto-detect if setup is needed and redirect you to /install.

B. Check requirements

The installer checks your PHP version and required extensions. If anything is missing, contact your hosting provider to enable it.

C. Enter database details

Choose SQLite for the easiest setup (no database config needed). Or enter your MySQL host, database name, username, and password.

D. Create your admin account

Enter your name, email, and password. This becomes the first admin user who can manage everything.

E. Finish setup

Click install. The system will create tables, seed default data, and log you into the admin dashboard automatically.

No command line needed. The web installer handles database migrations, key generation, and asset building for you.

4. Manual Setup (Optional)

A. If you prefer command line

Developers can install manually using Composer and Artisan commands. Run the following in the project root:

composer install --no-dev --optimize-autoloader cp .env.example .env php artisan key:generate php artisan migrate --force B. Create the first admin

After migration, register the first user through the web interface at /admin/register. The first user automatically becomes an admin.

Note: Prebuilt frontend assets are already included in public/build/. You only need Node.js if you plan to customize the frontend source files.

5. After Installation

A. Log into the admin panel

Visit /admin and log in with the admin account you created. The Filament dashboard is where you manage products, users, sales, and settings.

B. Configure your store

Go to Settings and set your store name, currency, and default tax rate. These appear on receipts and reports.

C. Add products and categories

Use the Products menu to add items with SKU, barcode, price, stock, and tax rate. Or import in bulk using the CSV templates in public/samples/import/.

D. Set up payment methods

Enable the payment types your store accepts: cash, card, and/or customer credit. You can configure these under POS Settings.

E. Create cashier accounts

Add users with the Cashier role so your staff can open shifts and process sales. Keep the Admin role for managers and owners.

F. Open the POS terminal

Navigate to the POS Terminal page. Cashiers open their shift, scan products, and start selling immediately.

6. Need Help?

A. Documentation included

Open documentation/index.html in your browser for the full buyer guide, installation help, admin guide, and cashier training.

B. Support

If you run into issues, check the documentation first. For further help, contact support through your marketplace purchase page.
