Gourmet POS is a modern, full-stack restaurant management platform built on Laravel 12, Alpine.js, and Tailwind CSS. Engineered for seamless deployment on standard shared hosting environments without terminal or SSH access, it features a self-guided web installation wizard that configures environments, manages database migrations, and initializes system settings automatically. The system connects front-of-house operations, contactless QR digital guest ordering, a real-time Kitchen Display System (KDS), and counter point-of-sale billing into a unified dashboard. Staff can manage multi-zone table seating, track ticket preparation stages, handle dish modifiers, and settle payments across cash, card, or dynamic UPI. Lightweight, responsive, and secure, Gourmet POS delivers an end-to-end hospitality management solution optimized for rapid deployment and intuitive daily restaurant workflows

Core Functional Modules

1. Manager Dashboard & Floor Control

• Interactive Floor Matrix: Monitor seating across zones (Main Hall, AC Dining, Open Patio). Visual badges indicate whether tables are available or occupied.
• Live Tab Inspection: Review open table tabs, preparation stages (pending, preparing, served), and itemized customer requests.
• Bill Settlement & Table Release: Collect payments across Cash, Card, or Dynamic UPI. Settling the balance automatically marks the order as completed/paid and frees the physical table back to available.

2. Contactless QR Guest Ordering

• Zero-App Browsing: Customers scan table QR tents to access direct routes (/menu/{qr_hash}).
• Customization Drawer: Modifiers support single-selection rules (radio buttons) or multi-selection add-ons (checkboxes) with dynamic subtotal recalculation.
• Client-Side Cart Management: Powered by Alpine.js to allow diners to draft choices, add special cooking instructions, calculate taxes, and dispatch tickets directly to the kitchen.

3. Kitchen Display System (KDS)

• Real-Time Cook Queue: Accessible via /kitchen for staff with cook or manager privileges.
• Ticket Lifecycle: Tickets transition through sequential stages: incoming (pending) → in-prep (preparing) → ready (served).
• Automated Refresh: Displays incoming table and counter orders without manual page refreshes.

4. Counter POS Billing Terminal

• Walk-in / Takeaway Processing: Rapid order entry interface for cashiers to input custom notes, apply taxes, and assign instant unique tracking codes (POS-XXXXXX).
• Direct Printing: Triggers thermal receipt generation formatted for standard 80mm and 58mm roll dimensions.

Instructions

Installation Steps

1. File Deployment: Upload and extract the project files into your hosting account. Ensure your web server document root points to the public/ directory.
2. Database Provisioning: Create an empty MySQL database and user in your hosting control panel. Grant ALL PRIVILEGES to the user on that database.
3. Web Wizard Access: Visit your site domain in any browser (e.g., [https://yourdomain.com/](https://yourdomain.com/)). If uninstalled, the CheckInstallation middleware intercepts the request and routes directly to /install.
4. Configuration Submission: Fill in the database credentials (use localhost as the database host on shared hosting), application URL, and admin account details.
5. Automated Provisioning: Clicking Install automatically:
   • Generates or updates the .env configuration.
   • Runs database schema migrations (migrate:fresh).
   • Creates the manager user account.
   • Generates the APP_KEY.
   • Establishes the public storage symlink (storage:link).
   • Writes the storage/installed lockfile to permanently deactivate the installer.
