Free URL to HTML - View Page Source and Download HTML of Any Web Page

What it does: a visitor pastes the address of a web page and sees the page's HTML source code exactly as the server sends it, the same thing a desktop browser's view-source shows, before any JavaScript runs. The source appears in a code view with syntax highlighting and line numbers, a find box that marks every match and jumps between them, and a line-wrap switch. Minified pages that arrive as one long line can be pretty-printed with one element per line, or any page minified. Next to the source the visitor sees the facts of the answer: HTTP status, final address after redirects, number of redirects, content type, charset, size, lines, and counts of elements, scripts, and comments. Plain notes say when the page was cut at the size limit, when a bot shield answered with a check page instead of the page, when the page builds its content with JavaScript, and when the page's meta charset disagrees with the one the server names. The visitor copies the source or downloads it as an .html file. HTML and XML both work, including RSS feeds, sitemaps, and SVG.

It is honest about what it is: the HTML the server sends to a tool, without your cookies or login, not the live page after scripts run (that is what the browser's inspector shows). Error pages are reported with their status instead of being shown.

Who it is for: developers checking what a server really sends, SEO specialists checking meta tags, canonical links, and structured data in the raw HTML, students learning how pages are built, and anyone on an iPhone, iPad, or Android phone, where browsers have no view-source.
