Requirements

Works on shared hosting or VPS. FieldDesk Suite is a standard Laravel app — if your host supports PHP + MySQL, you’re ready to install.

Server requirements

• PHP 8.1+ (recommended: PHP 8.2)
• MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+
• Apache with mod_rewrite or Nginx
• HTTPS / SSL recommended for login, payments & production use

Required PHP extensions

• pdo_mysql, mbstring, openssl, tokenizer, xml
• curl, json, ctype, fileinfo, bcmath, gd

Folder permissions

• Writable: storage/ and bootstrap/cache/

Optional

• Composer — only needed if the vendor folder is missing or you refresh dependencies
• Cron / scheduler — recommended for recurring invoices, reminders & background jobs

Instructions

Quick Install — Live in Minutes

No complex CLI needed. Upload the package, create a database, and finish setup with the guided web installer. Full guide: FieldDesk Suite Docs · Live demo: fielddesksuite.great-site.net

Step 1 — Upload the files

Extract the ZIP into your web root (e.g. public_html or htdocs/fielddesksuite).

Step 2 — Create the database

In cPanel / hosting panel, create an empty MySQL or MariaDB database and note:

• Database name
• Database username
• Database password
• Host (usually localhost)

Step 3 — Open the web installer

Visit:

https://your-domain.com/install/

The installer checks PHP extensions, folders, and server readiness automatically.

Step 4 — Complete setup wizard

1. Server check — confirm requirements are green
2. Database — enter DB credentials from Step 2
3. Admin account — create your Super Admin login

When finished, the app marks itself installed (creates storage/installed).

Step 5 — Login as Super Admin

Open:

https://your-domain.com/superadmin/login

Sign in with the admin credentials you set during install.

Step 6 — Create your first firm

1. Create a firm / company
2. Set branding, roles & basic settings
3. Start using CRM, invoices, projects, inventory & HR

After install checklist

• Make sure storage/ and bootstrap/cache/ are writable
• Use HTTPS / SSL on production
• Set up cron / scheduler for recurring invoices & reminders (recommended)
• Need help on any screen? Use the in-app Help button or open /docs

Re-install note

If you see “Already installed”, delete storage/installed from the project folder, then open /install/ again.
