FeedbackPin - Feedback Bug Report Widget

Description

FeedbackPin turns any website into a place visitors can leave feedback, report a bug, or share an idea, without asking them to sign up or install anything. Paste one script tag before your site's closing `` tag and a floating feedback button appears, backed by a self-hosted admin inbox you control entirely.

The embed script renders inside a Shadow DOM, so its styling can never clash with the host page's CSS, and the host page's styles can't distort the widget either, it works cleanly on any site regardless of what CSS framework that site already uses. A small JavaScript API (`FeedbackPin.open()`, `.close()`, `.toggle()`) lets you trigger the panel from your own UI, with a bottom-left or bottom-right docking option to stay clear of other fixed elements.

From one admin login, manage as many projects (sites) as you need, each with its own embed snippet and its own feedback inbox. Every submission automatically captures the message, an optional email, the originating page, and the visitor's browser; filter the inbox by status or type, or search by message or email, with pagination so the board stays fast as volume grows. A live unread-feedback counter keeps new submissions visible the moment you're back in the admin panel, and a honeypot field plus a per-visitor submission throttle keep spam out without a CAPTCHA.

Third-party feedback widgets typically mean a recurring subscription and your visitors' messages sitting on someone else's server. FeedbackPin is a one-time purchase you host yourself,  a good fit for an agency running the same widget across several client sites, or a small product team that wants a feedback channel without adopting a full support platform. It runs on a self-contained SQLite database, so there's no separate database server to install; the setup form creates everything on first visit.

Features

- Paste one script tag into any site and visitors get a floating feedback button, no account or plugin needed on their end. - Runs inside a Shadow DOM, so its styling can never clash with the site it's embedded on, and the host site's CSS can't distort it. - A small JS API (`FeedbackPin.open()` / `.close()` / `.toggle()`) to trigger the panel from your own button, plus a bottom-left or bottom-right docking option. - Manage as many projects (sites) as you need from one admin login, each with its own embed snippet and its own feedback inbox. - Every submission captures the message, an optional email, the page it came from, and the visitor's browser, automatically. - Filter the inbox by status (new, read, archived) or type (bug, idea, other), or search by message or email; results paginate. - A live unread-feedback counter next to the Dashboard link. - Built-in spam resistance: a honeypot field and a per-visitor submission throttle, no CAPTCHA required. - SQLite storage, no MySQL database to create,  a short setup form on first visit creates everything. - No Composer, no Node, no build step for the buyer.

Requirements

PHP 8.1 or later with the `pdo_sqlite` extension.

Instructions

1. Upload the contents of `src/` to your web host, or run locally with `php -S localhost:8000 -t src`. 2. Make sure `src/data/` is writable by PHP. The included `.htaccess` in that folder blocks direct web access to the SQLite database; add an equivalent Nginx `location` block if you're not on Apache. 3. Visit the site. With no admin account yet, you'll be taken to a one-time setup screen to create your login. 4. Add a project from the dashboard. Each project gets its own embed snippet and its own feedback inbox, so you can run the widget on several sites from one install. 5. Copy the embed snippet from the project's page and paste it into any site, before the closing `` tag. 6. Visitors click the floating button to send a bug report, idea, or general feedback, with an optional email address. 7. Review incoming feedback in that project's inbox,  filter by status (new, read, archived) or type (bug, idea, other), and open an entry to see the full message, source page, and browser info.
