No External Dependencies

EduAdmin has zero Composer dependencies and does not require any PHP framework (no Laravel, CodeIgniter, or Symfony). It runs on a plain PHP installation with the extensions listed above.

Instructions

Installation in 10 Minutes

Step 1 — Upload Files

Extract the ZIP and upload the entire edu/ folder to your web root:

• Localhost (XAMPP): C:xampphtdocsedu
• Shared hosting: /public_html/edu/

Step 2 — Create the Database

1. Open phpMyAdmin → click New → name it school_management → Create
2. Select the new database → Import tab
3. Choose database/schema.sql → click Go
4. Optionally import database/demo_data.sql for sample data

Step 3 — Configure Environment

Copy .env.example to .env and edit the values:

Setting APP_URL="auto" lets the system detect the correct base URL for localhost or any domain automatically.

Step 4 — Set Folder Permissions

Make these folders writable so uploads and backups work:

Step 5 — Enable URL Rewriting

Apache: Ensure mod_rewrite is enabled and AllowOverride All is set for your web root.

Nginx: Add this to your server block:

Step 6 — Access the Application

Open in your browser:

• Localhost: http://localhost/edu/
• Live site: https://your-domain.com/

Step 7 — Log In

Use the default admin credentials:

• Email: admin@school.com
• Password: admin123

Important: Change the admin password immediately after first login from Settings → Users.

Step 8 — Configure School Settings

Go to Settings and update:

• School name, address, phone, email
• School logo (upload PNG/SVG, max 2 MB)
• Currency symbol (Rs. / $ / € / PKR)
• Bank details (used on fee vouchers)

Using the QR Attendance Scanner

1. Print student ID cards (each has a QR code containing the student data)
2. Open https://your-domain.com/mobile/ on a phone
3. Log in as admin or teacher
4. Tap Scan QR and point the camera at a student ID card
5. Attendance is marked instantly — duplicate scans are detected automatically

Backup & Restore

Go to Settings → Backup & Restore for one-click download of the database dump, full project ZIP, or both. A safety snapshot is automatically saved before every restore.
