Crossword Game iOS Swift + Laravel API (Bonus CrosswordMaker App)

A fully functional and ready to upload CROSSWORD game built on Swift 5 and UIKit. The layout is mostly written by code to ensure the dynamic layout of the game.

The source code of this project follows industry best practices, ensuring clean and maintainable code. With a very simple and yet user-friendly interface, everyone can start playing the game with ease. This project can be run on iOS 13 until the latest iOS version (17.2), thus it is a great choice for those who want to learn about Swift and UIKit. The game also supports offline mode, so in case there’s no internet connection, it will still be playable if the user has previously downloaded the puzzles.

AdMob for monetization and In-App purchases are implemented in this project. You only need to change the configuration and it will be ready to publish!

This project also includes a fully functional and ready to use Crossword Maker app to create your own crossword game with ease! Therefore, you will have a whole package of a complete crossword game Kit with this project.

How to play:

The game starts with a list of playable crossword games grouped by categories.

Once you’ve selected a puzzle, you’ll enter the puzzle interface. The crossword grid, clues, and options to interact with the puzzle are all available here.

Tap on a square to highlight it, then enter a letter using the on-screen keyboard. Move between squares using the arrow keys or by tapping on the desired square.

If you get stuck, you can use coins to reveal a letter or word. Coins can be earned by completing puzzles, watching ads or by purchasing them in the store.
