Campusly is a self-hosted, multi-tenant SaaS for school management — classes, teachers, students, timetables, attendance, grades, and fees, all in one system each school runs under its own subscription.

Every school (tenant) manages its own classes, teachers, students, and billing independently, and pays a monthly or yearly subscription via Stripe to use the platform.

The two things generic school software skips entirely

• Real timetable conflict detection — when building a class schedule, Campusly actively checks for a double-booked teacher, a double-booked room, and a double-booked class section, and blocks the save with a clear explanation of exactly what conflicts (with an option to override when you really mean it, e.g. a substitute teacher). This runs on the server, not just as a JavaScript hint.
• A genuine parent portal — not a reused student login. Parents get their own account, linked to one or more of their children, and see live attendance, grades, timetable, and fee status as teachers record it. A parent with multiple children can switch between them.

Requirements

PHP 8.1 or higher MySQL 5.7+ / MariaDB (with PDO MySQL extension) PHP extensions: pdo_mysql, mbstring, json, openssl, curl, gd A Stripe account (for subscription billing — optional if you only need the Free plan) An SMTP server or mail-sending capability (for password reset and notification emails — falls back to PHP's native mail() if none configured) Apache with mod_rewrite (.htaccess) or equivalent rewrite rules on Nginx

Instructions

1. Upload all files to your server (or a subfolder). 2. Visit your domain in a browser — the installer will start automatically and will attempt to self-repair file/directory permissions. 3. Step 1: the installer checks PHP version and required extensions. 4. Step 2: enter your MySQL database connection details. 5. Step 3: create your platform admin account (name, email, password). 6. Step 4: installation completes — log in at /admin with the account you just created. 7. In Admin → Settings, add your Stripe keys to enable paid subscriptions and online fee payments. 8. In Admin → Settings → Email (SMTP), add your SMTP credentials and click "Send Test Email" to confirm delivery (or leave blank to use native mail()). 9. In Admin → Plans, adjust pricing and limits to match your business model. 10. If your host shows a "View not found" error right after upload, upload the included fix_permissions.php to your project root and open it once in a browser, then delete it. 11. (Optional) In Admin → Languages, add a new language and translate the interface from the admin panel.
