Atithi - Node.js Rental Marketplace

Atithi is a Node.js, Express and MongoDB rental marketplace with property listings, bookings, Razorpay payments and cloud media storage. A separate Python service supports image-based damage analysis. The package includes source and setup instructions; production hosting and third-party accounts are supplied by the buyer.

Requirements

To run and deploy this project locally or in production, ensure your environment meets the following specifications:

• Node.js: v16.x or higher (LTS recommended) • Package Manager: npm (v8.x+) or yarn • Database: MongoDB (Local instance or MongoDB Atlas connection URI) • Web Browser: Any modern browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari) • API Keys & Accounts:   - Razorpay Account (Key ID and Key Secret for test/live payment gateway)   - Cloudinary Account (Cloud Name, API Key, and API Secret for media asset storage)   - Stadia / Geocoding API Token   - Google OAuth Credentials & JWT Secret   - Nodemailer Email Service Credentials   - OpenWeather API Key

Instructions

1. Extract the package and install the Node.js dependencies with npm install.
2. Configure MongoDB, session secrets, media storage and payment settings in the environment file using the included README.
3. Install the Python dependencies for the damage-detection service if you use that feature.
4. Start the services using the commands in README.md and verify the rental and booking flow.
5. Configure production hosting, HTTPS and your own payment credentials before launch.
