  • PHP 8.1 or higher
  • MySQL 5.7 or higher
  • Apache or another compatible web server
  • PHP PDO extension
  • PHP JSON extension
  • PHP Mbstring extension
  • PHP OpenSSL extension
  • PHP Fileinfo extension
  • PHP cURL extension
  • PHP ZIP extension
  • PHP GD extension
  • Writable application directories
  • MySQL database

Recommended Environment

  • PHP 8.2+
  • MySQL 8.x
  • Apache
  • Linux hosting
  • cPanel or equivalent hosting control panel

Instructions

2. Download and Extract AtampsPOS

After purchasing AtampsPOS:

  1. Download the main package.
  2. Extract the ZIP file on your computer.
  3. Locate the application files.
  4. Upload the complete AtampsPOS application to your web server.

For a live website, the application can normally be uploaded to:

public_html/

For a subdirectory installation:

public_html/atampspos/

3. Create a MySQL Database

Create a new MySQL database using your hosting control panel or phpMyAdmin. For example:

Database Name: atampspos
Database User: atampspos_user
Database Password: YOUR_DATABASE_PASSWORD

On cPanel hosting, your actual database name may automatically receive your cPanel username prefix, for example username_atampspos.

Make sure the database user has full privileges on the newly created database.

4. Import the Database

The database structure and initial data are included with the application package. The SQL file is located at:

db/database.sql

Using phpMyAdmin

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Open phpMyAdmin.
  3. Select the database you created for AtampsPOS.
  4. Click Import.
  5. Select:
db/database.sql

  1. Click Import or Go.
  2. Wait for the import to complete.

After a successful import, the AtampsPOS database tables will be available in the selected database.

Do not import database.sql into an existing production database unless you are sure that you want to create or replace the included AtampsPOS database structure.
5. Configure the Database Connection

Open the following file from your AtampsPOS installation:

config/database.php

Inside this file, locate the database configuration section:

// ============================================================
// DATABASE
// ============================================================
define('DB_HOST', 'localhost');
define('DB_USER', 'root');
define('DB_PASS', '');
define('DB_NAME', 'atampspos');

Update the values to match the MySQL database you created.

Localhost Example

For a local XAMPP/WAMP installation:

// ============================================================
// DATABASE
// ============================================================
define('DB_HOST', 'localhost');
define('DB_USER', 'root');
define('DB_PASS', '');
define('DB_NAME', 'atampspos');

Live Hosting Example

For cPanel or other hosting:

// ============================================================
// DATABASE
// ============================================================
define('DB_HOST', 'localhost');
define('DB_USER', 'YOUR_DATABASE_USER');
define('DB_PASS', 'YOUR_DATABASE_PASSWORD');
define('DB_NAME', 'YOUR_DATABASE_NAME');

Replace:

  • YOUR_DATABASE_USER with your MySQL database username.
  • YOUR_DATABASE_PASSWORD with your MySQL database password.
  • YOUR_DATABASE_NAME with your actual database name.

For example:

define('DB_HOST', 'localhost');
define('DB_USER', 'username_atampspos');
define('DB_PASS', 'YourStrongPassword');
define('DB_NAME', 'username_atampspos');

Important: Do not use the example username or password above. Replace them with the credentials created on your own server.
6. Verify the Database Configuration

Before opening the application, verify that:

  • ###li/li######li/li######li/li######li/li######li/li######li/li###
  • config/database.php contains the correct credentials.
  • db/database.sql was successfully imported.

A common cause of database connection errors is an incorrect database name, username, or password.

7. Upload the Application

Upload the complete AtampsPOS application to your hosting account. The final structure should retain the important application directories, including:

atampspos/
├── config/
│   └── database.php
├── db/
│   └── database.sql
├── ...

Do not move or rename the config or db directories unless you also update the application accordingly.

8. Configure File Permissions

Make sure the web server can read the application files. Directories that require write access should also have appropriate permissions for your hosting environment. Avoid setting all files and directories to 777 unless your hosting provider specifically requires it. Use the permissions recommended by your hosting provider.

9. Open AtampsPOS

After completing the database configuration and upload, open the application URL in your browser. For example:

https://yourdomain.com/

Or, if installed in a subdirectory:

https://yourdomain.com/atampspos/

For a local installation:

http://localhost/atampspos/
