AdminSkin - Bold White Label wp-admin Theme

Description

very unbranded "Powered by WordPress" touchpoint in a client's wp-admin is a missed reminder of who actually built and supports the site - the login screen, the dashboard, the admin footer. AdminSkin is built for agencies and freelancers who hand off or manage WordPress sites all day, and it replaces every one of those default touchpoints with the agency's own name, logo, and colors.

What sets it apart from most "admin theme" plugins is that its dark mode actually finishes the job. Rather than inverting one palette to produce the other, light and dark are each designed on their own terms, with a dedicated heading typeface and a deliberate accent color carried through the admin menu, admin bar, and dashboard widgets. Dark mode reaches past the menu and dashboard into WordPress's own Posts, Pages, Plugins, Users, Comments, and Media list screens, every core Settings screen, the admin footer, and even the block editor's toolbar and sidebar tabs - so opening Settings or the editor doesn't dump a client back into gray-on-gray raw light-mode text. A Light/Dark/Auto toggle sits right in the admin bar, so any logged-in user can pick their own scheme without touching the site-wide default.

Branding runs through the login screen (your own logo or a text wordmark, a considered background gradient instead of a flat color fill, a restyled card and button, and a login logo that links to your own site instead of wordpress.org), a custom admin footer message, an optional dashboard widget with your own support message and link, and the option to hide the default WordPress dashboard clutter (Events and News, At a Glance, Activity, Quick Draft) your clients don't need. Accessible contrast and visible focus states are kept intact throughout every themed core screen. (Third-party plugin screens with heavily custom styling of their own are outside what any admin theme can guarantee to reskin.)

WP admin: `admin` / `DemoAdmin2026!` at the standard wp-admin login. Also visit `https://adminskin.andarkconsulting.co.za/wp-login.php` directly - no login needed - to see the plugin's restyled login screen live, its most visible feature.

Features

- Redesigned login screen: your own logo (or a text wordmark), a considered background gradient, and a restyled card and button - Login logo links to your own site instead of wordpress.org - Bold, considered admin theme - Light, Dark, and Auto (match the browser) - each designed on its own terms, with a dedicated heading typeface and deliberate accent color - Dark mode covers core Posts/Pages/Plugins/Users/Comments/Media list screens, every core Settings screen, the admin footer, and the block editor's toolbar/sidebar - Light/Dark/Auto toggle in the admin bar, per logged-in user - Custom admin footer text instead of "Thank you for creating with WordPress" - Option to hide the WordPress logo from the admin bar - Dashboard widget with your own support message and link - Option to hide default WordPress dashboard widgets (Events and News, At a Glance, Activity, Quick Draft)

Requirements

WordPress 6.0 or later, PHP 8.0 or later. No parent plugin required.

Instructions

1. Upload the `adminskin` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or upload the zip via Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin. 2. Activate the plugin. 3. Go to Settings > AdminSkin. 4. Set your Agency name (used as the login logo's title text and the dashboard widget's title if no logo is set). 5. Optionally pick a Login logo from the media library - it replaces the WordPress logo on the login screen and links to your site's home page instead of wordpress.org. 6. Optionally set a Login background color - it's blended into a gradient, not used as a flat fill. 7. Choose a Color scheme: Light, Dark, or Match the browser (default). Logged-in users can also override this for themselves via the Light/Dark/Auto toggle in the admin bar. 8. Optionally set custom Admin footer text to replace "Thank you for creating with WordPress." 9. Optionally hide the WordPress logo from the admin bar, and set Dashboard widget text/link for your own support message. 10. Optionally hide any of the default WordPress dashboard widgets (Events and News, At a Glance, Activity, Quick Draft). 11. Save changes.
